My name is Jane Colacecchi and I live with my husband, Tom, in rural Warren County with our spaniel Boo and a cat that adopted us.  We love spending time with our large family that includes active older parents in their 90’s and eleven very active grandchildren!  We attend the First United Methodist Church in Indianola and have been active in a variety of volunteer efforts in the community. In my spare time, I love watercolor painting and enjoy the outdoors, fishing, and gardening.

I am running for Supervisor because I care about the quality of life for Warren County residents. We are entering a stage of growth and development that will change the face of our county. With thoughtful strategic planning, we can create smart growth while maintaining our rural way of life, improving access to services, assuring fiscal responsibility, protecting agricultural resources, and conserving the natural beauty and history of our county.

I am committed to the open and collaborative sharing of ideas. Whether you live in town or in the country, no matter your political party, you deserve a voice and someone who will listen.  Together, we can move Warren County forward.

I have volunteered my planning and grant writing skills to numerous non-profit organizations in Warren County.  I have led grant writing workshops for county-wide non-profit agencies with Warren County Hometown Pride. I volunteer as a consultant for multiple community-based organizations, assisting with completion of grant applications to ensure successful funding of their projects.  I was personally successful in writing grants that raised over $130,000 to save the 1870 Historic Palmyra Church in Warren County and assisted the Ackworth Garden Club with a grant to complete improvements to Brownie Park in Norwalk, in addition to many other groups. I also provide an interactive presentation on backyard butterfly conservation.  I am dedicated to continuing volunteer support to local organizations and conservation and historic preservation efforts across Iowa.

I have been working in and around government for over 25 years. My executive experience and work with government agencies will be a great asset to the Board of Supervisors. I have a working knowledge of government policy, budgets, leadership, and planning, and years of experience as a problem solver. I invite you to review some of my key project outcomes HERE.
